CRC Big Letter to Doug Ford
CRC Big Letter to Doug Ford

Our letter to Premier Ford is just the beginning of our public campaign to raise the profile of the Hidden Quarry case and to let politicians know that we are not accepting aggregate mining in our community.

In the past few months the CRC team has welcomed a new member, Mike Balkwill of Wellington Water Watchers. His expertise is in public/political campaigning. He has long experience, and most recently was instrumental in bringing the Nestle water taking issue to whole new levels including international media coverage as well as a government moratorium on new permits for water bottling companies, and in the Shin Yi Glass Plant turndown last summer.

Mike is energetic and focussed on action. We are all excited to be trying to keep up with him. He will guide and work with us towards the goal of having a ministerial intervention, stopping the Hidden Quarry – a decision which can be made outside the walls of an OMB/LPAT court room.

ACTION: On Thursday, November 15, Mike welcomes anyone who would like to be involved in a brain-storming session to plan our campaign strategy – which may contain everything from letter-writing campaigns to signs to things that go bump in the night. YOU will bring ideas, questions and conviction to the table. Mike will help consolidate a practical and effective plan.

We love the BIG letter above. It’s just the beginning!!

Oct 23rd CRC Community Meeting – STOP Hidden Quarry

ALERT!

Tuesday, October 23, 2018, 7 pm
Eden Mills Community Hall

The Concerned Residents Coalition is holding a critical meeting on Tuesday October 23, at 7 pm at the Eden Mills Community Hall. This meeting begins the final countdown to the May 2019 OMB Hearing on James Dick Construction Ltd’s application for a license for the Hidden Quarry.

This photo was taken in February 2015 at the CRC Community Meeting in Eden Mills

We all know the health and integrity of our community and our ecosystem are at stake.

The leadership of the Concerned Residents Coalition has a plan to prevent the destruction of our woodlands, wetlands, moraine and quiet rural community.

However, we need to know now if the community supports our plan and will pledge the time and money required for it to be successful.

We will present our legal and campaign strategy at the meeting and we will answer as many of your questions as we can.

Then we ask you, the community, to commit to taking action together with us and to donate money to support our strategy.

It is possible to win and stop the Hidden Quarry – but only with the complete support of the community.

The meeting on October 23 is of the topmost importance. We look forward to seeing you there.

PS – There will be coffee and home baking!
