Start – St. John’s Church Green, 11:30 Saturday May 11
Please spread the word and if people can’t attend perhaps they would like to ‘sponsor’ your walk. Here’s a sample of what one CRC member sent to their friends,
I will be joining a Walk for Water in Rockwood on Saturday May 11, and I am writing to ask for your sponsorship. As you know, working to win this fight has been one of my passions for seven years now. We have raised almost $700K and have a really good case to bring to the LPAT Tribunal which starts on May 21. So I am sure we are going to win, but it would be nice not to end up in the red afterwards!
Any amount would be appreciated. I could come to pick up your gift, or you could make a contribution online at www.hiddenquarry/water.

If you have any doubts about how damaging the Hidden Quarry could be to our water supply then this is a must read. Google ‘What is the most important resource in the world?‘ and you may be surprised to discover that it is something we often take for granted, water. We seem to have an endless supply of water here in the Rockwood area but we don’t. Water is limited resource here too, especially clean water. Rockwood’s water comes from wells that draw on an aquifer in the ground beneath us. We have a beautiful pristine aquifer which is replenished by clean water filtered through our section of the Paris Galt Moraine. How important is this clean recharge? It cannot be overstated, ask the residents of Walkerton where 7 people died and 2,300 were sickened by E. coli. The proposed Hidden Quarry would be situated smack dab in the middle of our portion of the Paris Galt Moraine, destroying its ability to clean our water. Imagine putting a toilet on your well! In this article Peter will help you understand how the Paris Galt Moraine protects us by cleaning our water. Click here for the pdf.
